Distinguished guests,
Ladies and gentlemen,
Good evening.
On behalf of the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, I would like to welcome all of you here. The 'Visit of High-Level Officials for Judicial and Law Enforcement Cooperation from Neighbouring Countries' is co-organised by the Macao SAR Government and the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC in the Macao SAR. This is an excellent opportunity for us to share practices and experiences of our judicial system.
Since the establishment of the Macao SAR, the Government has been receiving full support from the Central People’s Government. The principle of “One country, two systems” is demonstrating its advantages. We benefit from the protection under the constitutional law and the Basic Law, and the advantages of the implementation of “One country, two systems”.
The Basic Law recognizes that Macao shall be vested with independent judicial power. We are committed to achieve social justice and to protect the legitimate rights and interests of our citizens. We believe, through this visiting program, the sharing expertise and experiences will benefit our continuing work on our judicial system and laws.
I wish this visiting program every success and all of you an enjoyable stay here in Macao.
Thank you!
Chefe do Executivo, Chui Sai On, presente na recepção, oferecida pelo Governo da Região Administrativa Especial de Macau (RAEM), à delegação de entidades judiciais e policiais dos países vizinhos.
